Beside a bubbling brook deep in the Emerald Isle
Come along and sit beside me for just a little while
Spy the hollow of that tree
Over yonder and you will see
A magical, mystical creature who is clever as can be
His ears are mighty pointy, his toes are turned up too
Watch closely now, Let’s see what he’s about to do
This tiny little fellow wearing a coat of Kelly green
Is ever so busy making, the tiniest shoes that I have ever seen
The toes are pointed upward towards the bluest sky
Directed towards the rainbow if one should happen by
Only true believers have ever seen these elves
Use your imagination and you may see one yourself!

Ireland, The land of the little people.

I love your poem. It takes me back to when I would sometimes sit quietly by a brook, motionless. Lots of woodland creatures would eventually gather around because in time they decided I was some harmless inaminate object.
This poem paints those images beautifully.

Thanks Terri and Bipe

for your comments. I'm glad you both enjoyed the poem. I actually had a lot of fun writing it. :)
Happy St. Paddy's Day to you both.
Bipe your experience in the woods reminds me of the days when I used to go camping quite a bit. Guess they got used to me being there. Chipmunks would eat right out of my hand.
