I'll Never Catch On
19 March, 2007
Author: Manny
I was never one to catch on
Easily confused and comprehension gone
Words unclear, and confusing
Speaking fast, stumbling; stuttering
Always tongue-tied, forgetful and droning
My stories, conversations; boring
What are easily understood by others
Only slip through my mind further
Wanting to know, and missing out
An important event, even a sentence so drought
The importance, the meaning of it all
My brain shuts off, and the words just fall
In one ear, out the other
Wishing I had the intellect of another
One who understands, catches on
Where the comprehension is set; never gone
Words clear and images spawn
Speech is understandable, right, and rarely wrong
Never tongue-tied, forgetful, or droning
My thoughts are alive, coherent; originality oozing
Waiting, wanting my mind to turn on
As time goes on…
I realize I’ll never catch on
