All That It Seems.....

He died of a rare allergy
At the age of 9,
Know one knew anything was wrong,
He seemed and looked fine

There was a void in my life when he past away,
I was so mixed up
I didn’t know if I wanted to join him or stay

I looked high and low
For a companion to take his place.
I even looked in busy shopping centres
But my search always ended without a trace.

He was my other half,
If you were down
His innocent humour and smile
Would always make you laugh

He loved the park,
His bottom lip would go
When I told him we had to go because it was getting
Dark

I missed being the big brother,
Walking hand in hand
Missed going to the beach
And building castles in the sand

17th of October things changed,
He met me in my dreams,
And explained that passing away is not all that
It seems

He told me there were family members
Looking after him with a watchful eye…”so stop worrying bro,
And please don’t cry”

He said….”I’m sorry for stealing £1.50 from you,
I took it to buy some sweets,
And don’t worry bro it’s amazing here
But I shall tell you more the next time we meet”

A LOVING God took my brother away,
So I still don’t think “God” is all that he seems,
But at least I get to speak to my little brother…In my dreams.

heart-touching

write. Left an impact on this reader. Sometimes I have wondered to why as you stated here, a "loving" God would see fit to take our loved ones from us.
This poem touched my heart. Thanks so much for sharing it with us.

It's a mystery to me.

I'm so sorry for your loss. My brother recently died, not that young. I wished it had been me, because he had been relatively healthy.
When we try to figure out God it may be wise to consider that we don't really KNOW God. We only believe. I can't help trying to figure it out, even though it's impossible.
I agree with Catyrose. This was truly touching. The writing is excellent, but is overwhelmed by the message it conveys. May you have happy dreams of your brother.
