The High Road
23 April, 2007
Author: Catyrose
Something very odd happened today
Without a moments notice
All of my care’s were mysteriously whisked away
I looked in the mirror
And a new person I did see
Who no longer resembled that helpless victimized old me
I felt empowered to carry on
Somehow I felt that I belonged
To no else, just simply me
Enjoying the idea that I choose to be free
Free of the negative thoughts that filled my head
Free of constraints imposed by a few
I suddenly realized that it’s out with the old and in with the new
From this moment on I have the power to choose
What I take in and what I throw out
It’s all up to me, what this life brings about
No one has power over my being
My thoughts and life are now my own
A positive, powerful new path I have been shown
