All I Know
7 June, 2007
Author: Ing Twi Demalah
I don’t know what tomorrow will bring
If in the morning I will once more awake
I’m not even sure of what I am doing
But following my heart can’t be a mistake
Maybe to you my actions seem quite crazy
Though it’s love and happiness at stake
I know the power of the love I have for you
And that love is kind, is not easily angered
It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, for my love is true
And what man who claims to love, sets rules so that yourself you cannot be
But I am in love with you just as you are
And I love you completely, honestly, freely
I don’t know what you must be going through
Afraid to be loved, afraid to let love pass you by
And I cannot say, how long forever is
Can anyone even love that long, for you, I’m willing to try
And I do not know, what hardships lie ahead
But I will be with you every step of the way and dry every tear from your eyes
I know my eyes close each time that we kiss
And can you taste my love for you
As though it were honey upon my lips
I wonder can you feel me trembling at your touch
And do you feel my heart, each beat that it skips
Some times it scares me to love you this much
I don’t know how it feels to live without happiness
When life becomes a trap from which you cannot escape
How many chances are we given at love
And isn’t that a chance we should be willing to take
I cannot promise life will ever be easy
But I can take away your pain, your sorrow and heart ache
I know when so sweetly we make love
And we gaze deeply into each others eyes
Can you see, can you feel the love I have for you
Love unfettered, without complexities or pride
Does your heart race at the memory, taking your breath away
As it always takes away mine
I don’t seem to know at times what you are thinking
And yet you can speak to me openly
As though peering into my soul you look at me unblinking
And if two, kind, people in each other find happiness that their own lives are better
Then they must follow that joy for their own lives
Else lie to themselves if they do not strive with all their hearts to be together
Till the heavens themselves be sundered and rent
And all the days of my life are utterly spent
Though I forget my name and the look of my face
And my eyes grow dim from death’s embrace
When my heart ceases beating and all my living is through
Even then I will know that I am in love with you
