Moment Of Silence
29 January, 2002
Author: Denise Pearcey
The world is at a stand still.
As we pray for the deceased and ill.
The clouds of smoke rising ever so high.
While disappearing into the endless sky.
We look over the debris down below.
As we shed our tears over ground zero.
So much emotion is bleeding from our hearts.
Holding each other, feeling like we’re falling apart.
This day has brought misery, sorrow and pain.
And fear of it ever happening again.
We touch the ground that used to be there.
Now what we see is land that is bare.
The heroes are ones to be remembered,
And the people whose lives have ended.
The anger and confusion coming from the crowds.
Makes us all want to scream outloud.
I send my angels to New York state.
Where they will stay and wait.
To heal the ones who are still in pain.
And bring their city back again!
