Profound Ambition

Author: Princess Moon
My love, my sweetness, I find you tender at last
Has my God, answered my prayers amid this moment too fast?
Our days of beautiful courtship, so divinely special and pure
Though I still know I love you, one thing still holds unsure
I love you, darling-yes, that I do know in my heart
It is shown every time the heat rises in our form of art
Passionate kissing, but daring to go no further than that
Though it is dreadfully hard to stop at the drop of a hat
However, my darling, this is not the urgent matter to stand
The matter involves something precious, it involves my hand
And though only God can give this question it's answer so true
This is one question I dare to have courage enough to pursue
Am I destined to marry you, or guide you for only a season?
Please tell me, my love... do You know the reason?
Are you steadfastly sure that we will end up together?
Or just truly hoping on "till death do us part" and "forever"
I am so sorry, my love, but I must find a verdict
For it is my heart I am dealing with, and thus I must be strict
You've known from the first moment, that I was like no other
I've had no man in my life, except the Lord, my father, and my brothers
You were and always will be the first man I've really loved
And I just want the assurance that such love is never shoved
Shoved too fast into a fantasy in young lovers' eyes
A love that should be more defined than a chance of surprise
Tell me, my love, what you see in my stare
Do you see "always and forever" - "floating on air"?
I know what I desire, and it is that you, my delight, would be the one
The man I'll spend moments to cherish, smiling under the sun
Please understand, my dear, I love you with flicker transformed to a flame
I put no question to whether I love you or not, that would put our love to shame
But just keep in mind, that though we love one another, a question still holds
We must be ready for the quick comings, no matter what the future unfolds
------- Author's Notes -------
I wrote this poem in reference to any girl who would question her love while holding strong not to have relations before marriage. True love waits. Hope you enjoy! |
