Contemplation

Take pride
in your achievements
both big and small,
for they are part of you.
Learn from your mistakes,
for they are the guidelines
of your life.
Follow in the footsteps
of the great dreamers,
that you may pave the way
for those yet to come.
Be humble and forgiving
of those that would slight you,
for theirs is not your tolerance.
Take heed of your fellowman,
and listen to what he has to say,
for his words have meaning.
Be honest to all mankind,
but above all,
be truthful to yourself.
Look to tomorrow,
caressing only the good of yesterday.
Put away all thoughts of sorrow,
because they are not positive.
Live life to its fullest,
savoring every minute,
for it is offered to you but once.
Give of your love freely
that your life may be long
in contentment.
