Childhood Lost
24 July, 2007
Author: Bobbie Jean
When did I lose my childhood?
Maybe it was when I was a rebellious teenager,
trying to break away from my parent's hold?
Or when I became a young adult,
so eager to prove myself?
Surely by the time I was married,
and had children of my own?
But no, I felt it slipping away
when my father died.
My mother died recently,
then I knew my childhood was lost
and I miss it.
