A Tranquil Morning
10 August, 2007
author: Rebecca Ditch-Hammack (aka Dreamer)
It is just before I go to work
First morning of perfect silence
Usually the TV blares
And the dogs; they dance about
I can hear the gentle hum of my computer
My fingers as they tap the keys
The air conditioner in the other room
The fan that blows cold air this way
If I really think about it
Silence isn't as perfect as it could be
But so much more tolerable
Than the busied noise ahead of me

Meridian (71.253.214.92) -- Friday, August 10 2007, 04:24 pm It's good to have peace from time to time. Nothing on. Nobody awake but you. Trying to keep quiet so that feeling can stay before you head to work. Nice one Dreamer! |
shiloh (69.205.237.142) -- Tuesday, August 14 2007, 06:50 am I have found that the early morning hours between 1am and 5am, when everyone else is asleep and the house is quiet, is the best time to sit at the keyboard with a cup of coffee, and people the rooms in your mind with old friends and ghosts, and to arrange words and thoughts and emotions and make them into something for others to read, and, hopefully, enjoy. |
