One Year, Six Months
1 September, 2007
Author: Icytears
One year, six months ago,
Me and you as one,
One year, six months now,
My best friend and you as one.
I wonder if you feel my envy,
Taste the torture within me,
Begging, pleading to be let out,
Out to embrace you once again.
One year, six months gone,
Gone as though it never existed,
You moved on leaving me behind,
So lonely, so caught up in the past times.
Will you open my cage,
To let me spread my wings,
To be set free,
Free from this cage.
One year, six months later,
Caught in an unrequited love,
Once again, forever again,
Won't you let me out?
I wonder if you notice,
Notice that you still hold the key,
To release me from your sweet grasp,
To let me rise above memories of you
Ah, one year, six months ago.
The day me and you were no longer one.
------- Author's Notes -------
One Year, Six Months is a song by Yellowcard in which I took the title from, as this month (September) is the month in which my ex dumped me one year six months ago. This has been a poem I've been meaning to write for a while now, and thus I finally did. |
