Poet For The Living Water
24 September, 2007
Author: Princess Moon
Lord, You Are my inspiration
In forming beautiful art from ink
With You, there's no time to question
There's just choosing to follow and not think
YOUR poetic touch translates through me
A humble servant who desires Your Spirit
Lord, there's nothing more precious than a gift
To write poetically what You say for others to hear it
To hear about the magnificence of Your love
Is a heart-touching moment for all indeed
But it doesn't just come to make people feel good
It also comes as a chance to plant a seed
Lord, help me to follow YOUR will for me
So that this gift isn't pulled from my grip
I want a "downpour" blessing to overflow on me
Not just a trickle for me to sip
Lord, I've done wrong before; yes, I'm not perfect
But I'm a daughter seeking to do better in life
So I will continue to seek this Spirit of Yours
Even if I have to go through struggle and strife
Lord, CHOOSE ME to call in all nations
CHOOSE ME to shout across the seas to men
With pen and paper at the work of a hand
It can go anywhere...places I've never been
In all this, Your presence is all I really need
Your essence is all that is required
For me to portray Your glory and honor
Sometimes pen and paper isn't enough to express what's desired
But I do it because it's what You've called me to do
And I don't think there's any other place I'd want to be
Than sitting here as a poet for the Living Water
With pen and paper, His Spirit, and me...
------- Author's Notes -------
It took me some time to write this one between college, work, and church. But I basically wrote this to express how I as a poet feel about being used as a vessel in written art for God! He's done so much for me, I'm honored to be a poet for the Living Water! And I pray this will inspire you all to what role you all can have for Him in this world so desperate for beauty...starting with pen and paper, my friends! |
