Better Tomorrows
5 November, 2007
author: Rebecca Ditch-Hammack (aka Dreamer)
Laying in pools of your own making
Challenges created by your own hands
Allowances made sacrificing yourself
To something you felt a worthy cause
Sacrificed your freedom
Sacrificed your heart
Sacrificed your beliefs
All for a settle-for start
You used to think there'd be something more
Striving to believe in happy endings
You tried to make all the pieces fit
Of a puzzle from the wrong box
Someday you'll understand the lessons
Of the choices in paths you walked
That even the worst were stepping stones
In the life that you were caught
Surviving your confusion
Surviving your broken heart
Surviving the occasional lack of faith
With eyes wide open, darkness departs
