There Is No Respite
8 November, 2007
Author: Hope
There is always two
Doing this battle inside
Which one will win
Neither one can decide
Over and over again
All this internal chatter
No one could hear
So why would it matter
Those manic highs
Into a depressed state
Moods poles apart
High and low fluctuate
The ups and downs
Its a roller coaster ride
After flying so high
Again there's a flip-side
Changing everyday
In another mood swing
There is no respite
From the rapid cycling

Bipedalguy (75.67.182.104) -- Thursday, November 22 2007, 12:16 am Manic depression, or Bipolar disorder, is a sad condition. I know a few with it. I don't think I've had a manic day in my life. I've been at the other end of the scale enough though. Your poem describes the illness wery well. Great write! |
