Human Hatred

When human hatred shows its hand
to people from some other land,
of different color, or way to pray,
don’t turn your head. Don’t look away.

When evil says to hate your neighbor,
and condemn him to such cruel disfavor,
don’t pretend you weren’t aware.
Don’t let hate spread anywhere.

Be not afraid to clearly see
this spreading cloud of apathy,
ignoring evil’s measured tread,
‘til all is lost and freedom’s dead.

Oppose the evil wherever you go.
Stamp it out, don’t let it grow.
Ignore it not, or you may see
that in the end it’s come for thee.

Timing

Thanks for the favorable comments Shiloh, and thanks also to your wife.
I just wrote another e-mail to you, and I ended it with a line that could easily be asociated with the hippie days. I had not yet seen your question about my being an old retired hippie. LOL. It was a chance coincidence.
I never was a hippie, but I had some hippie friends. Some of them were real characters with a rare and unique sense of humor.
Thanks again. Don AKA Bipe
