Flying Solo
28 November, 2007
Author: Catyrose
Perched ever so delicately upon my window sill
She stares into my eyes
Gazing back I realize
She was once me
In another time, another day
When I was young and carefree
I’d flit and fly
The days flew by
My dreams were large as life itself
Fear did not reside in me
My only desire was to be free
Free from the confines of his grasp
I flew off into the night sky
Never pausing to whisper the words he longed to hear
Off I flew, and simply disappeared
Until tonight I never knew
How foolish I had been
The price I’ve paid is beyond measure
I flew away and left my one true treasure
