More Than Hope
2 December, 2007
Author: Kia
Calling through the coming dusk
came the war,
came the soldier with his musk'.
Shoulder to shoulder with his friends
bold, but unhappy
had come to make things end.
They didn't really like this war,
no one did
but they vowed to finish it
tonight for sure.
So they fought their fight
and won their war
and they went home feeling more than hope
for their country
and their homes
They went home feeling joy
for they hadn't merely won a war,
they had won their freedom
and could never, ever ask for more.
