This is not just a flower it’s more than it appears
It’s a symbol of our love mean to last thru out the years
Each part of it has meaning, from the color to the thorn
From the dew drops on the petals, from the stem that has been shorn
You see it started from a seed and then from there it grew
The same way with our love when I first met you
The stem is there to show us our love is strong enough
And the thorn is a reminder that love is sometimes tough
The color represents the way my heart bleeds for you
And the tears that we have cried are present in the dew
Each petal is unique yet needed by the other
In order to be secure so they hold to one another
So the next time that you find a rose, I pray that you will see
That’s its not just a flower, but a symbol of you and me
