The Beast
18 December, 2007
Author: Shan
Who's idea was this?
Plain white padded walls
Locked up by the wrist
Where no one hears my calls
Induce another drug
Subdue my mind some more
Maybe there's a bug
Behind my locked minds door
Is it me or the beast inside
You wish you knew before you came
Will you wish to run and hide?
Or kiss me just the same
You say it's all in my head
You're right, but it's in yours too
I see it every time you ask me
Who the hell are you?
Well inside, I'm my devil
The answer remains the same
And I once more will revel
It's my life, my turn, my game
I'm me, I'm she, I'm mine
I promise you, I'll be just fine
My poetry explains emotion
There's no need for tests and pills
Expression is my potion
It's my way, my love, my will
You can keep me here
I'll stay most willingly
But realize, I have no fear
No more than yours can be
You can fight to prove it's true
To tell me I'm insane
I might like to let you through
On a journey in my brain
But when you fail to understand
Know that it's not your mistake
You haven't failed my hand
The beast just will not break

LCN (70.137.40.220) -- Tuesday, December 18 2007, 04:35 am I love reading your poetry. It reminds me so much of how I felt as a child growing up. I still have trouble keeping those dark moments under control. My fav has to be "Minds Door". Keep up the good work. I will keep reading.!! |
