Brave Benazir Bhutto
28 December, 2007
Author: Marilyn A F Longfellow
She could have run.
And tried to hide.
So brave and sure.
Bhutto stayed outside.
Freedom from terror
And third world strife.
In a style of ease
She enjoyed her life.
But could not turn
Away in pride.
Hearing her people.
For freedom they cried.
An epic life
Was ended today.
Gathered with the martyred
Of yesterday.
Now her strength
And spirit aflight.
Will visit her mourners
With vision and might.
