Evolution Of Me
10 January, 2008
Author: Poeticaleigh
Turn back in time and see smiles erased
The picture is painted black
Dreams of clean slates approached unanswered
What if I had closed my eyes tighter?
Would I have faced the experience?
And with that, can true happiness be obtained?
A moment of doubt for all dreams wished to be true
For all fairy tale endings
For all my prayers spoken silently
And for all the dandelions I plucked
Those fingers of luck flutter through the sky
Peering into my parallel reality
Peeking around an imaginary corner
Touching my unknown
Seeing my own blank canvas
Would I have faced the experience of me?
Would I, or could I have faced the music of my failures?
Would I, or could I have faced the symphony of my success?
My comfort aside, my security blanket forgotten
My forever brick wall is crumbled
Could I have ever found sanctuary in my nakedness?
Could I ever have faced the experience of me?
------- Author's Notes -------
This was the last poem I wrote - several years ago. I am hoping writer's block to be cured with some truthful critiquing. |
