Urbanization For Toto
5 February, 2008
Author: SweetVenom
Straining to see through the dust cloud,
With the ground shaking vigorously,
As big bulls raced through the village,
I thought I will be razed to ashes.
Removing blockages in its way,
Clearing the mess by pounding,
I scurried to find my pups,
Securing their future was my goal.
Dusting the environ was never done,
Houses faded to big concrete domes,
Trees turned to big pillars,
Farm lands vanished to cement stores.
Soon came the ties, suits and skirts,
Tranquility lost in admiration,
Converting farm city to sin city,
I was squeaking when a car ran over my leg.
Losing one of my pup to the big man,
Agonized crying and my brawl was unheard,
Sleeping with dried heart on a concrete mess,
I passed away in the withering cold.
------- Author's Notes -------
Toto is my fictional character in a small village which is experiencing frantic urbanization. This is the scenario in most of the emerging economies with the high raising concrete floors degrading the innocent farmers. |
