Emerald Green Eyes
16 March, 2008
Author: Dennis R
They were pools of green
From depths of the sea.
The reflections were flames
That burned in me.
My smile was an echo
From times of the past,
Light in those green eyes
Had caused it to last.
Echoing with laughter
They were emeralds of light,
More precious to me
Than stars of the night.
Some hide their passions
Behind a disguise,
Mine were exposed
By emerald green eyes.
My mind can see them
Still shining today,
Though death has taken
Those green eyes away.
Heaven is much brighter,
Well lit now the scene,
Found, there a gemstone—
Eyes, Emerald green.
