Holding Hands In Sleep
29 March, 2008
Author: Dennis R
The cocoon of anxieties raises hope
As does the web of anticipation when
The mind succumbs to the rivers of sleep.
Experience is relayed by Morse code.
Cloudy skies and sunset pyres don’t interfere
As the winding road leads into chasms deep.
Time will not permit body and mind to elope,
Nor can the two function as one then.
One is charged with responsibility to keep
The safety for both and carry the load
As in the awakened state when both are here.
The trust between them— a daring leap.
OR HOW IT MIGHT HAVE BEEN SAID
The cocoon of anxieties raises hope.
Time will not permit body and mind to elope,
Nor can the two function as one then,
As does the web of anticipation when
The mind succumbs to the rivers of sleep.
One is charged with responsibility to keep
The safety for both and carry the load,
Experience is relayed by Morse code.
Cloudy skies and sunset pyres don’t interfere
As in the awakened state when both are here.
The trust between them—a daring leap,
As the winding road leads into chasms deep.
