My Gift
18 December, 2002
Author: Dino Hi
I can't sleep, it's a week before Christmas
A silent night at one-thrity, my mind's a fuss
The tick-tock of clock, dripping water in downspout
Hearing the gurgling in my stomach, wind blowing in and out
The Christmas tree is still standing, with gifts underneath
Neighbors Christmas lights still on, across the street
The moon and stars disappeared, the rain moved in
My mind in deep thought, my pencil stop moving
This is a real silent night, and all is bright
She's still here, alive, and all is right
Survivor of breast cancer, so thankful
One more Christmas to see, and be grateful
My gift
