Outward V.s Inward
3 May, 2008
Author: Christian V
The images haunt me
from every word you utter
racing through my mind
doing no less than two hundred
burning the tire marks into
the pavement forever imprinting
the sound of your voice
with his
My mind runs away
not wanting to face the truth
of your truth
but my body stays
comforting
saying that I understand and
that everything is ok
but
In actuality I lose it
I’ll try to jump in front of
the cars
but they drive right through me
whizzing past with a false kiss
a treacherous moan
My territory invaded
And I can’t even draw a sword
In defense
A kiss that was not mine
A touch from foreign hands
I find my self in a lack of
Knowledge
No battle plan could prepare me for
this
yet I still smile
wiping your tears
while I hide mine behind
red doors
busting the key in the lock
so none can attempt escape
how do I
how does any man
find peace on this subject?
can there be any love afterwards?
I dare not think on the
possibility of
there being any others
one that might take my place
or a phantom that resides with
you behind the curtains
Time can only tell….
as the saying goes
but time is merely relevant
my body comforts
though my mind tears itself
apart
The track is empty
but the imprints will stay forever
never again shall any walls
be invaded
a barrier shall raise itself
high to the heavens
and while the remains of my
mind stay barricaded
know this
A mistake is not always
a mistake
perhaps I’m not the one
that needs to ponder
on this matter of
treachery
My body will remain
however, my mind
more yet my heart
belongs to me
