My mind is consumed,
By thoughts of you,
It seems so unfair,
That you left me so soon.
I cannot believe it,
Its like a dream thats too real,
Its hard to explain,
This feeling I feel.
I've heard others describe,
Their struggle with loss,
Like a piece of them is missing,
Like there's a hole in their heart.
From my experience,
These feelings they've described,
Aren't even a fraction,
Of what I'm holding inside.
How I want to call you,
Just to talk for a while,
Recalling our childhood,
Always brought us a smile.
I think of our last visit,
Its so vivid in my mind,
If only I could have known,
It would be the last time.
So many more things,
That I would like to say,
If only you were here,
To wipe my tears away.
To you my loving sister,
Until I see you again,
I will mourn the loss,
Of a very dear friend.
------- Author's Notes -------
My sister died 5 days ago, very suddenly and unexpectedly. We were very close. |
