Perception

Was it me, who walked into a room of cold?
Is it true our love turned old?
We once were lovers of the day,
Forever and ever it seemed to last,
Then today at arm’s length we kissed and played.
Moving on is change in motion,
Change is the only constant that does not change,
Moving on and growing aware,
I need more today than you were then,
Love you I do as I know you do,
Moving on it’s a new road, new me today.
Don’t be a stranger, I wasn’t aware,
Time to recover, I’ll write you again,
Did my lips offend you as they touched?
Was my embrace to tight the night I left?
Moving on it seems will have to do,
A simple goodbye would have felt clearer still.
My perception is you love me still,
My perception is time to recover,
My perception is loving you near,
However, my perception is now moving on my dear.
