You Are The One

Author: Clive B Ringshall
Today I was given a gift so it was named,
A gift to move on not restrained from another,
To be asked to leave as a lover once was,
Then asked to return as the friend I always was.
In a state of loveless lost through the years,
In a state of confusion my mind battles my heart,
Do I walk on or run to return?
Today is now etched deep in my heart.
Love does come and go to where when?
What was and is unconditional becomes lost within,
Many times love came never turning out right,
How many times do you try again and again again.
Once there was a boy, who loved and lived with a girl,
Together they laughed and blossomed together,
As time travelled on they grew closer than ever,
As time travelled on they outgrew each other.
As time travelled on their love grew strong.
I hear you ask two people in love,
I hear you ask how are they apart,
To love someone at times it’s to let them go,
A void now so strong will be left in my heart,
A void that will never be filled again.
To who you are I love you dear,
To who you are you are the one,

anonymous (71.217.38.201) -- Saturday, May 17 2008, 06:13 am I like this, "do I walk on or run to return?" For me, I don't want to be a yo-yo. So I walk on. She only wants to be friends now. Thanks for your poem. I like it! |
Terrye* (67.187.237.233) -- Wednesday, May 21 2008, 10:53 pm this is one fine print-i enjoyed readin' it . Clive to some it takes just once to find true Love. to others it takes a life time. but in each and every relationship gone bad as a heart chokes one builds character as we heal and move on where one must go even as we surrender- the one we Love-- this was an excellent read. |
