Underneath
18 May, 2008
author: Rebecca Ditch-Hammack (aka Dreamer)
Hiding beneath a mask you paint upon your face
Your heart hidden beneath the armour of piercings
Don't let anyone have a chance to be let in
Right in plain sight you become invisible
Few will take the chance on the person underneath
While you sit in judgement of those you scare away
Can't get hurt by those that don't try
No one cares or takes the time
Afraid to look, for it would force a stare
To find a look of need that is really there
A simple glimpse, and quick look away
Everyone makes their own world
