Next To My Heart
18 May, 2008
Author: Catyrose
If I could I’d extend my arms to you
I’d hold you close, until the tears subsided
Or we’d simply cry together
Certain this pain would not last forever
I’d listen as the heartache poured from your lips
Holding your hand in mine, caressing your finger tips
Seeing you through another day, till the storm had come to pass
Yes, I’d be there for you as I have always been in the times known as our past
Though tonight the miles place us apart
Rest assured, you reside close, right next to my heart
If you need a shoulder to cry on or to find a listening ear
Always remember my friend, I am still here
