The Old Man's Potty Time
19 May, 2008
Author: Shiloh
Here I sit,
all tired and weary,
within these bathroom
walls so dreary.
Waiting, hoping,
even wondering
if my bowels
will go thundering.
Sitting here
for time eternal,
because my innards,
so infernal...!!
will not play
their joyous part,
will not even
loose a fart.
But will keep me
prisoner here,
with this porcelain
'neath my rear.
And so I sit,
'till my legs sleep.
The tingling hurts
me so, I weep!
Then, giving up,
I try to stand,
and find I must
reach out my hand
to grasp that rail
upon the wall,
to steady me,
oh, 'lest I fall.
Then standing upright
once again,
I turn and nod
to my old friend,
that short, round vessel
on the floor.
Then I turn slowly
toward the door,
knowing I'll
return again,
to spend more time
upon my friend.
