Grandma bird life's situation, like many others, going from one mate to another, guiding along five young birds and watching them grow up. Now with three grandkid birds, to help guide them through life too. Grandma bird finally found a big bird mate, and big bird put her under his wing, to give her a comfortable nest, and to protect her. She said, This bird is a keeper!"
Grandma bird was very proud of her two grand-daughter birds, and one grandson bird, but grandson bird was a troubled little bird, growing up through many emotional times. He could always rely on grandma bird, to help him out through life's crappy situations. They grew very close, as grandson bird grew up. He would ask her, "grandma bird, I'm having alot of trouble with this cute little bird. What should I do?" She said, "you tell that little bird to fly away."
One day grandma bird gave him a very beautiful gold keepsake ring, with a diamond and two rubys. Now you make sure none of your cute little birds take this, and would ask all the time, when ever he flew by, if he still had it. A cute little bird asked if she could ware it? Your grandma bird will never know. No way! I made a promise, and that cute little bird flew away, without the ring, never to come back.
"Fly away little bird, let that little bird fly away," has been their little saying, for as long as he could remember.
Then one day, on Valentine's Day. Grandma bird suddenly and without warning, passed away. A heart attack, that left big bird holding her helplessly. This was the saddest day for grandson bird. He lost the grandma bird that always stood behind him, to help guide him through life's crappy situations. She didn't care what you looked like, dressed like, just as long as you acted right. So hurt by this, he would sing a song, that he made up for his grandma bird. To help remember her, and he promise every year, on Valentine's Day, he will send her a card, through a prayer, and sing this song, "Fly away little bird."
"Fly away into the sunset, and forever your happiness, is what death brings. I will miss you. I can't believe that the All Mighty needed you, maybe not as much as me. Grandma bird fly away, for your spirit will return someday."
So as days and years will go by, grandson bird see's her spirit come by. Just to say Hi. A hawk flying by, a crow soaring so high, and a hummingbird, sitting on her favorite red rose bush, ready to fly. Hi grandma bird! Thanks for coming by. I miss and love you, and I'll send this prayer, up into the sky.
