Someday Soon
22 May, 2008
Author: Clive B Ringshall
You were their when I needed to cry,
You took my head and laid it in your shoulder,
You caught my breath and then we’d talk,
You were there to see my smiling joy,
You held my body close to yours.
I was there to hold you close,
I was there to listen to your day,
I was there to comfort your tears,
I was there to be there,
You gave much more than I could try.
One day soon I’ll understand your way,
One day long away I’ll regret each day,
Never knowing what we might have been,
Never understanding why we met,
Some night I’ll lay thinking of you,
Some night I’ll become yours true.
Someday soon I hope we meet,
Someday soon our hands in hand,
Someday soon I’ll know your name.
