You were there from the start,
You were there when we needed you most,
When we grazed a knee your kiss made it better,
When we needed a hug your arms open wide,
When we needed to cry your shoulder wiped our tears,
Appreciating you was too long a word,
But we loved you as only we could,
As we grew older your love became stronger,
As we grew away your love is still there to find,
Each day you’re in our thoughts,
Each day we thank you in our way,
A telephone call visit or card,
It’s our way in letting you know,
We still love you every day,
Today you’re deep in our thoughts
As a mother and father you were meant to be.

bein' a Dad is a tough Job--
Clive ,this is a thoughtful poem birthed from your heart, might i say...Dad's have a a TOUGH Role in life, i had to make a devastain' change from Mom to Mom/Dad almost immediately after death came uninvited and took my husband/soulmate ..it's not the same the hardest/saddest was bein' dad to my son.. thank you for your written thoughts..

Thank You Clive,strong respectable young adults they are indeed... but as we all know...every child NEEDS their Dad especially a son...Fathers day has more meanin' to me when my Children gave that day to me, i felt sad but Honored!!
