The Coming Of Summer Rains
29 June, 2008
Author: Miztrebor
Here i am miles away from anyone.
There are trees and valleys and rivers,
All, in between civilization and my peace.
Not an unwanted sound can be heard here.
There are only the crickets and peepers
As they start their evening songs.
The scavengers and hunters of the night
Begin to come out of hiding,
Rustling the bushes and leaves as they move.
I sit here on my rock alone,
Listening to this music thinking,
Thinking of just one thing:
It be not this music,
It be not these peaceful creatures.
I sit here thinking of her;
My one true Love, my everything.
She is miles away now.
If she were here, this sunset I watch,
It would be hers.
If she were here, this music I listen to,
It would be hers.
Suddenly I sense her,
I smell her unique scent
(I know it well.)
It is the smell of a dirt road, steaming, after a storm.
It is the smell of damp grasses in the morning,
After a wet night’s shower.
That is her scent.
She has come, traveling many miles
I get wet as she kisses my skin,
Drenching me in her Love,
Here is my Love…
Here is my Rain.
