If A Tree Fell
2 July, 2008
Author: Miztrebor
Many often ask the question:
"If a tree falls in the forest
And no one's around to hear it,
Does it make a sound?"
That is a good question to ask.
Question that question as well:
"If there is no one around,
At all to hear,
Then how would one know if,
and when, the tree fell?"
That is the truly,
Truly, the ultimate in questions.
If answered would the world end
From cause of mass dumbfoundedness?

Being an old married man, this reminds me of a similar question - gotta share it with you - If I am all alone in a forest, and no woman is within a hundred miles of me, if I speak, am I still wrong!?? (and the answer is: Yes!) |
Bipedalguy (65.96.237.196) -- Sunday, July 6 2008, 05:30 pm The question reminds me of a time when I had a calculator which was more than an ordinary calculator. It could perform any conceivable computation. There was nothing it couldn't do. (or so I thought) Once I entered the proper keystrokes to calculate the square root of minus 1. My wonderful calculator sat there for a few seconds, then it swallowed itself. (-1 has no square root) |
