Don's Proverb
5 August, 2008
Author: Bipedalguy

vinebar

Once I, Don dreamed that I was Bipedalguy.
I wrote Poems, short stories and Limericks.
Then I awoke, and again I was Don.
One thing still puzzles me.
Did I, Don really dream I was Bipedalguy,
or am I really Bipedalguy dreaming I am Don?

------- Author's Notes -------

This is obviously an adaptation of Chang's Proverb.
In his dream he became a butterfly. When he woke up, he wondered if he was really a butterfly dreaming he was Chang.
I really like Chang's Proverb, because, in my dreams, I never consider that I might be dreaming at that time.
That leaves open the possibility that I may only be dreaming that I'm writing these author's notes.

Confusing, isn't it.

I can't figure it out myself. I guess in a way I'm both Don and Bipedalguy. I bet a lot of people wonder how I came up with such a wierd pen name. One of my Limericks explains it. "About My Pen Name" is the title, as I recall.
Thanks Terrye*, for the really great comment.

actually...

actually, Don, you are just a Contrary... you refuse to fit into either a round or square hole, and no one is able to pin a label of any sort on you.

"Noble, indeed, is the person who is not easily described or who fits not the preconceived notions of others, for therein lies the gift of thought as well as imagination, for all to enjoy." (some blathering idiot just now wrote those words, but they do fit, and they sound good, too!) peace... hank

Shiloh, Interesting comment

"Contrary" reminded me of a movie "Little Big Man", with Dustin Hoffman who, for a time lived with Indians, one of whom was called a contrare (spelling?) He rode his horse facing backwards, washed with sand and dried with water, and did other things backwards. L.M.A.O.
I appreciate that you bothered to figure me out, and that descriptive paragraph is nice too.
I'm no leader nor follower. My attitude, in certain situations, has been, "Follow me if you wish, but please don't interfere".
Thanks Don - Bipe
