Sidewalking
8 August, 2008
Author: Puppet
Houses and houses
Stand row by row,
Continuing an endless
Garden flow
The front yards pose
As mini lands hatch
The garage doors
Lay mixed and matched
A potent patch
Of quilts that clash
But the sidewalk is passive
Neutral and cold
Yet comforting
Grey square follows
Grey square,
Like a chessboard during peacetime.
