Flight Into Me
6 October, 2008
Author: Marie Stiles
the twin eludes me
don’t tell
don’t tell
trying to
Catch up
Catch up
the walk turns to a skip
the skip into a ferocious stroll
the stroll into desperate hop
the hop into leaps
the leaps and then not feeling my feet
whoa!
the twin in striking distance of me
finally
we will be
realized
There goes my dream in front of me
In my chest, the balm for that
Ol ragged leprosy
Here comes mobility
Eagles tell me stories
Together we fly
As one
Look and see!
The twin inside of me
------- Author's Notes -------
My aim is for the reader to take this journey, actually to step into my shoes. Crafting the perfect imagery is important, as it is the only way for my audience to take this "flight" with me. |
