Promise

I feel all your pain
I felt it yesterday and I feel it today
I can't seem to get away
Am I suffocating?
Am I drowning in this misery?
Am I lost in reality?
Do you find it strange that I feel strange
In a world I was born in?
I don't feel as if I belong
I don't always feel that I am strong
But I'm glad that I have you
You never lie, do you?
You've laid it all down for us to see
That you're coming back in all your beautiful glory
When that day comes, the rain will not be bitter
When that day comes, there will be a change
It won't feel so cold in the winter
And no one will be afraid
For now though, I'll stand for you
I won't give up this fight, I won't lose
You never said that life would be easy
I cry along your side every single time
A mother's baby dies
But letting the devil win is not an option
So I'm gonna keep my head above the water
And focus on the horizon
Like I promised you Father
