Forever Hearts
25 November, 2008
Author: Catyrose
At times I think I’ve fallen short of the mark
Then my vision is adjusted once more
I see beyond what this world sees as the right path for me
I found great pleasure in the smiles on your faces this evening
The fellowship was filled with love and genuine care
More often than not I would stop and rest my hands on one’s shoulders
to impart the depth of caring I had forgotten still resides within my sometimes shallow soul
Years of working for little pay will soon come to an end
I leave with mixed emotions
Bittersweet memories I shall carry
There was love in these rooms
Acceptance, kindness, concern, and so much more
All were allowed to simply be who they truly were
Will I ever find this again? I wonder as I strike out on a new pathway
To reach out my heart and hands to others
When touching another’s life I gain so very much
More than mere words can possibly convey
As I close my eyes tonight a sense of warmth mixed with a trace of sadness washes over me
Your unconditional love was the medicine my shattered heart did need
Healing took place in these rooms, not just for you, but also for me
Thank you my friends for the laughter we did share
I’ll hold you in my heart, always, with tender loving care
------- Author's Notes -------
Thank you my CB friends for opening my heart and allowing love to flow in. |
