All the emotional abuse
I was put down for years
Always doubting myself
The smiles hid the tears

Never having confidence
It was what I had to bare
I felt worthless and used
They never seem to care


The hurt I had felt inside
I was made to feel small
It was as I began writing
Those years I still recall

Knowing without a doubt
They were wrong not me
Emotional scars this left
I think how it used to be
