Fairytales And Sidewalks
11 December, 2008
Author: Pondering Red
Sometimes,
occasionally,
rarely,
there is
THAT moment
when
time stands ever so still...
where love may appear
and enfold you
with even more LOVE.
Time is kind.
Time is timeless.
The wise ones flow with time
and elders are respected
and dance with seasons of happiness.
Yet,
some times seem
to strangle that
fairytale moment.
and with time
memories appear stronger,
memories rule,
perhaps exaggerated,
misunderstood,
even buried.
She trips over cracks
on the city sidewalks,
slips over black ice.
It is beginning to rain.
December rain.
She once had a fairytale moment,
long long ago
and maybe some others.
She scratches her head with her
very thick mitten.
Her breath is visible,
yet some beads of sweat
stick to her face and neck.
It is a cold world sometimes.
Thoughts of previous relationships
send chills through her.
She shivers,
jumps over another large hole
in the concrete.
The rains are soft and moist.
She smiles.
Her frown seems to decrease.
Where is Neverland ?
