Do Nothing Time
4 January, 2009
author: Rebecca Ditch-Hammack (aka Dreamer)

vinebar

Satisfaction in the 'do nothing' moments of the day
Quiet surroundings as the dogs lay sleeping at my feet
Only an occasional rumble of a passing car
A few crackles from the fireplace

Supreme feelings of being rested
Holidays over, house straightened
Not even the TV blares
Nothing dares to interrupt the solitude

Relaxed to the point of sleep
Wide awake in my musings
Peaceful moments stolen away
Time for just one's self to contemplate

A new year, a new day
A new moment, mine for the taking
To regress, digest, examine and explore
The wonderful 'do nothing' moment of the day

I wish

Dreamer! I wish I could say the same over here. There's hardly any peace, no matter what time, day or season. I can say though, this city isn't like New York, New York - the city that never sleeps. I must have relaxation. I am glad your holiday season was enjoyable. Did you go anywhere for the holidays?

Nice poem Lady R!
