Momentary Memories
22 January, 2009
author: Rebecca Ditch-Hammack (aka Dreamer)
Sometimes the memories hit you at unexpected times
A place, a smell, a sound,
A scene on some movie screen
The tears fall
Overwhelming feeling of loss
For a moment revisited
Doing the right things
Saying the right things
Did you hold his hand long enough
A sad time of last moments
Just being together
Lost in memories of the past
Wiping the tears away
You try to put it aside
Placing memories back in their safe place
Then life resumes
------- Author's Notes -------
Sometimes I really miss my dad... |
