Long Tooth
18 May, 2002
Author: Don Fraser
Yes it’s teeth were long,
In my ribs,
They did not belong.
I went for a swim that day,
I laid on the beach for many days,
I wanted to catch the suns warm rays.
I went for a swim,
In the sea,
I dove in.
I swam a few strokes,
As I was thinking,
Of dirty jokes.
A big white shark got me in his teeth,
And in the water,
He pulled me beneath.
He bit me so hard.
My heart turned,
To lard.
He shook his head,
I was sure,
I was dead.
I yelled but no one could hear me,
That shark pulled me under water,
You see.
I fought it the best I could,
That’s what a man,
Losing his life should.
He finally let me go,
Why he bit me,
I’ll never know.
I have a scar,
From that damn ocean,
I will stay far.
When I draw my bath I say dear,
Is that free from sharks?
Do you hear?
Even our waterbed give me the creeps,
Who knows what secretes,
Those damn sharks keep.
