Women: Poems 1 To 5
13 February, 2009
Author: Colin Stewart
His manly quest took him far and wide
seeking dominion with virility and pride
but what the great explorer secretly denied
was having a good woman by his side.
--
The sunrise couldn't even begin to compete
so it remained low key and unnaturally discreet
by asking for permission and kissing the feet
of a woman whose golden glow was hard to beat!
--
Style and colour often depends
on the fickle nature of fashionable trends
and the instinctive message that it sends:
Always listen to a woman and her friends!
--
She's a missing person in my life.
I'm searching for my darling wife
but her mind resides somewhere else instead
and there's a stranger sleeping in our bed!
--
The music of Vera Lynn brought back a tear
to the legionnaire who lost someone dear
during a volatile time when one never knew
that love lasts forever but the days were so few.
