Our strengths and weaknesses shall never end
when determining man's make-up in a genetic blend
which is unable to recover or take time to mend
by posing as the enemy and also your friend!

'Fear' said to 'stupidity' "what are you doing here?
It's not a safe place and your position isn't clear."
Well 'stupidity' didn't know and 'stupidity' never will
when you should be running away instead of standing still!

'Help' arrived and promised to perform
but 'hindrance' is a nuisance and still the norm
as the meddler who remains true to form
when you're unable to track the storm.

'Hype' once said "I've never been beat
and I'm not just based on some conceit"
but 'letdown' predicted another repeat
"and as your shadow I'm never discreet."

'Compliance' was monitoring the human race
but 'ridicule' was quick to make a face
by resisting authority and upsetting grace
and putting irreverence back into place!
