History Revisited
16 February, 2009
Author: Colin Stewart
They still live in teepees and hunt wild game.
History didn't oppress with its chapter of shame.
The dawn of a new era never came
and the freedom of their land remained the same.
A pending world tour will hit the road
with an audacious itinerary and a heavy load.
This celestial observatory is very old
so uprooting Stonehenge seems extremely bold!
Cursed by an eternity of arthritic despair
the boy king was reluctant to openly declare
that his days as a hoofer had reached a nadir
and a mummy can't dance like Fred Astaire!
I write from Vienna with news to tell
that a young student named Adolph is not doing well
and art is a discipline which no one perfects
but we wish him success with any future prospects!
NASA thought they had closed the deal
but lunar lunacy would soon reveal
that a detrimental moment was hard to conceal
when Neil Armstrong slipped on a banana peel.
